How to Splice Electrical Wires

Tags:

• Electrical wires are spliced by using pliers to twist them together.

• Use a wire stripper or a utility knife to remove 1/2 to 3/4 inch of insulation from each of the wires to be spliced. Do not do this with a wire cutter. The conductor itself    the actual wire    must not be nicked or scraped. In the case of multi-strand wire, all of the strands must remain intact.
